In the article, "Four are dead after a string of shootings in California", they are discussing how a man begun to shoot in his home. Killing a women.

The man who had begun to shoot name was Ali Syed. He begun to shoot at 4 something in the a.m. A 20 year  women was shoot and killed. Police does not full know and understand why Ali
was shooting, an the relations between the too is still unidentified. After the shooting took place, Ali took off but later that day he was spotted in a restaurant parking lot where he was saw putting more bullets into his gun.

I think that Ali and the women that was in her 20's, must have been arguing and he got upset so he pulled out his gun and begin firing. 

Ali later that day, shot a car on the express way injuring others as well. And as he continued to travel, he killed more and more people with a shotgun. When the police finally caught up with him, he shot himself because he knew what he had got himself into.

I think that Ali had a lot of things going on in his life that devoted him to kill so many innocent people and then take his own life away afterwards.

Korean war Part 2

" Sixty years after the end of the war, tensions are rising on the Korean Peninsula."

The leader of north Korea , Kim Jong Un has decided to try and bomb the U.S.

I think that North Korea is trying to bomb the us because they dont really have that much money left for somethings And they are trying to scare those people of America.

I dont think that its a good idea because the nuclear bombs that they have in North Korea, are not able to reach the U.S. , and if north korea was to send a nuclear bomb it would most likely hit south Korea.

Barack Obama is doing a lot of things to make sure that the U.S is ok and that he find a way to end this madness in good matter.

The leader, Kim is just trying to make his self look better than what he is and try to show Koreans that he is powerful , when truthfully he's not.

I hope that the U.S is safe and that this so called "Korean War Part 2 " is over and done with.

Time For A Raise?

In the article, " Time For A Raise?" they are discussing how Barack Obama would like to change the minimum wage from $7.25 hourly to $9 dollars an hour.

I think that this is a good idea but on the  other hand as its making it easier for other people its kind of making it a little harder on the business owners. If they raise the wage for one employee they will have to raise the wage for they other employees that are making more than 9 dollars. And because of the raising of wages then some employees might get less hours than usual, or some might just get fired.

" It could mean the difference between groceries or the food bank, rent or eviction, scraping by or finally getting ahead. For businesses across the country, it wouldmean customers with more money in their pockets." Low income families could really use the extra money, to survive in the world and it can also help people that do not have a job.

Some people feel as though just by having just a little bit of extra money to play around, should not / will not harm anyone. With today's society you need a little extra money just to be on the safe side.

Slaughter of the African Elephants

 

In the article " Slaughter of the African Elephants " by Samantha Strindberg and Fiona Maisels they discusing how it is cruel how elephants are being killed just so people can use their tusk for things that worth money.

I think that people should not kill and harm the Elephants because they provide a lot of things for people and animals on earth, so why would we harm them if they didn't do anything to harm or hurt us people of America. The things that Elephants help people and animals out with are by helping maintain habitats, they help clean the air so that its easier for us to breathe.

This quote made me angry because of the fact that we are all gods creatures and they are killing Elephants to do this that you could do with wood or other materials instead of taking life away from an animal.

People should not want to kill for money. They shouldn't want to kill at all expecially if the animal they are killing, are doing things to help the earth and other things on earth.

Kat Dahlia upcoming Music

In the article, " Kat Dahlia 'Swaggy' Follow Up to 'Gangsta' , they are talking about what her new song that just released, " Gangsta" is really about.

"I was definitely going through a lot at the time and I'll tell you, people always have something going on and everybody finds their own therapy," kat stated. Unlike most people rapping about all the success in their lives and what they want they lives to be in the future, she rapped about things that hurt her in her past and mad a smash hit song.

I think personally that this song has a strong meaning behind it. Some things that happened in her pass is what happened in most kids lives today in the world, but they are not willing to announce to anyone because they might not be used to expressing their feelings to strangers, or they are afraid of how others would react to it.

Most of the music that she preparing to come out in the next month, will be similar to "Gangsta" because she feel as though music is a way for her to let things out. She is my favorite rapper now because i have people in my family and friends that has some of the similar things happening to them. And i too can relate to her, with being Puerto Rican and with the struggles from my past. Her music speaks to me on a level that not, Nicki Minaj nor Drake, etc. can reach.


I think that Kat Dahlia will be successful in the music industry!

CyberWar

In the article, " Cyber War"by Patricia Smith they are discussing how soliders of Iran Hacked into Saudi Arabia's computers to shut down Saudi Arabia's oil company, and when they hacked into the systems they put a picture the American flag burning in flames.

 

The burning flag represented that Iranians are not just there to try and attack Saudi they are soon going to try and come after the United States of America.

 

"The hackers picked the one day of the year they knew, they could inflict the most damage on the World's most valuable company." The day they chose to inflict the most damage on the World's most vauable company was August 15th. August 15th was the day of a Muslim holiday so the hackers knew that the employees of Saudi Aramco would not be there, to protect their important information.

 

The hackers where able to delete about 75 percent of data and files.

Why did they attack?

 

I think that attacked because they knew that the oil could be used inside of nuclear bombs. And they them bombs would be used against them, so they decided to make the first serious move so that they would not get attacked with out being prepared. But im not sure, others might think other wise.

 

The U.S should have back-up data from that day forward, because someone else might try the same thing, and if they do at least they would be prepared and it would not really affect them as much.

 

 

 

 

Sisters In Arms

In the article " Sisters In Arms" by James Dao, they are mainly talking about how the u.s military are deciding weather they should let women in combat,  and if they are as strong as men to fight in combat?

If they let women fight in combat it would be a good thing, i think. I think that it would be a good thing because women don't get that but respect as it is, because they are women and people think that women are not physically and mentally strong as males.

"When the military goes to full integration, it allows commanders to put the best person in the job, not just the best man," Jacob says. When Jacob made think statement he was basically trying to say that just because your a male, it doesn't really mean that you might be the best at fighting in combat. Maybe some women can be better than a man. They should be looking for the best, to get the job done than the gender.

In the article it stated that, a female photographer that was in Afghanistan, ( Sergeant Pearsall) had to do some similar things, as the soldiers. She had to carry heavy armor, camera equipment, and if the enemies was shooting at her, she had to shot back without hesitation.

" I didn't sit around think: 'I'm a women; I don't think i can carry this gun," Sergeant Pearsall stated.

If women are strong enough to give birth, than i feel as though they are strong enough to fight for their country as much as men.

Is Gender-Based Pricing Fair?

In the article " Is Gender - Based Pricing Fair?" they are discussing how businesses are charging men an women different prices for the same type of services, and how different people does not think that it is fair.

I think that they should charge women an men different prices, depending on how much stuff they are getting one, either at a salon or barbershop because i women needs many more things done then men do.

Some people in the article is saying " we all have a basic civil right, to pay the same thing for the same service". Meaning that we all have a right as male/female citizens of the unite states to pay the same price as one another, because we all are equal individuals.

Some people that agree with the fact that women an men shouldn't pay the same amount say that business should be free to charge what they please. They also said it might cost different prices, if your are getting long hair cut then if you get short hair cut, does not really matter if you are a woman or man.

What if both woman and a man get their hair cut? But both hair is short, would it cost the same price for different prices?

the article says in this type of problem, then the pricing might only be different if one of their hair is different from one another. Other then that then no the pricing for the woman an the man would be the same.

Some people believe that couples, and noncouples are just having unmeaningful sex and are are not getting married because they love one another.The article states, " Valentine's Day was originally created by the Roman Catholic Church as a limit on sexual passion." So basically back in the day, like in the 1900's , Valentine's Day was not a day for people to show their love for one another, it was a day for the complete opposite.

I think that Valentine's Day should be for people to go all out of their ways to make the person they love feel special. A day full of happiness and joy. Not a day for people to not love one another.

"For the church , the message of Valentine's Day was that while marriage had a place in society, although not the highest place, romance had place in marriage". Basically love was not the main reason for people to get married. They would just get married for the fun of it, not because they ha true love for their partner. One top of not having love for your wife, if you had sex with your partner that was a sin. Back then sex was only use for making babies that's all, while having sex with your partner you could not enjoy it.

I think that the meaning of Valentine's Day change from how it was back in the days, because over the year people begun to gain feelings for the person they was with, or the person they ha children with.

Failure is not an option

In the article, " Failure Is Not An Option", they discuss how important China's college entrance exam is.

In order to get into college and or university in China, you would have to take a nine hour exam , and you must pass it so that from high school you go to college. If you do not pass that exam then you would have to wait another year to take the exam again.

Out of 9,000,000 students in china, only 3 or 4 students are able to continue onto college.

I think that it is not far that all of them students worked their way through high school and are excited to go to college and then have to take an additional test that is going to take for ever to do. This could cause depression on students because they would be studying day and night, 24/7.

The article also stated that the test does not just determine weather you move on to college or a university but it also determines a selection that has a huge influence on career prospects. So now by the students knowing that, they would be more disappointed because their dream career would be on hold for another year if they don't pass the exam.

I think that the test should be a little bit shorter than 9 hours because , the reason the students might be not passing is because they are getting tired. I also think that they should they should be able to at least know what questions they got wrong so that they can know what to really study on.

I think that everyone is human also, and that we all make mistakes and have to deal with the out come of things. But because of the fact that Lance has been lying for so long, is not good at all for one who is trying to make it some where in life by following their dreams.

" We all have our Flaws", state Kevin Powell. By Kevin saying that we all have our flaws, he means that we have that one crazy thing that you have did and it back fired. Kevin says that instead of looking at this in a bad way, Lane could look at it in a good way by trying to get all drugs and etc, out of sports. He could make a chance.

Syrian Army think that it is a good idea to provide untrained men with multiple weapons, such as AK-47's , rocket launchers and home made bombs.

The homemade Bombs are chemical weapons, that are very dangerous for people around them and also them. But according to regime, these types of weapons would only be used towards invasions.

I think that this Civil War is very dangerous and they should get those who are not involved in this civil war, away from it. Also i think that they should work something out because they are not going to work anything out just by going back an forth fighting, bombing an shooting one another.

The main reason children are not able to do anything without some type of parents around in today's generation is because its not safe. With all the child predators, road traffic, and bullies.

Esther has mentioned 5 different ways that play time is good for children. They include; 1. Play gives children a way to solve things on their own. 2. They learn to control their emotions 3. teach them how to be friendly and meet new people. 4. gives them a chance to develop a connection an last but not least, 5. play in a source of happiness.

Personally after going over these five ways that play time is a good thing for children, i agree with this article. Person should really give their children the chance to make certain decisions or to handle a certain situation by their selves,  so they know what to do when they are alone without parent supervision.

The main causes for the schools closings is under-enrollment, under performing, and saving money.

The numbers of schools are: 22 Elementary ; 11 high schools ; 4 middle schools.
According to the article the school district is trying to bring student who lack a certain amount of knowledge to receive more by being in a better and more together school.

I think that they should not close down so many schools, because this action would cause multiple problems. It would cause fights between schools and transportation problems for students who live far from the new location they are sending them to.

" Jobs would likely be lost as a result of the closings, though there's likely to be "minimal impact" at the teacher level" Said Hite.

So because of these actions, principles might lose their jobs and have to find another. By the school district of Philadelphia thinking that they are helping their selves, they are really hurting other people too.

They should close down schools that buildings are falling apart and that is unsafe to be inside of. Will they really go through with this decision, or will they make some better decisions?

Marijuana Law just creates Criminals

I think that Marijuana is the most common reason why people are getting killed on the streets and or arrested. Either they are getting mad because of a drug deal gone bad or because someone snitched on them.

If you were caught in 1977 with Marijuana the law stated that you would be fined 500 dollars and on top of that you will have to go to jail for a minimum of 3 years it depends on how much marijuana you are caught with.

The article said that 85% is latinos and blacks. This goes for both male and females. Sometimes its not always males who are caught doing drugs, its also females. Most people wouldnt think that females would do it because of the fear of jail, but they would do it if they need the money, and or having struggles in life.

Marijuana is not just used by drug dealers, it can be perscribe to you by your doctor if there is nothing else to help the pain you are having.

I think that a close friend has killed biggie because with the type of security that he had, not just any body could be able to get close to Christopher. Yes he was a drug dealer at a young age but it was because he had a single mother who was also trying to survive in Brooklyn.

In the movie  "Notorious" Biggie stayed " Drug dealing was like my wife but Rapping was like my side chick". I think that he should have just stuck with rapping because it would have got him into so much trouble, and he would have went to jail.

This article "16-year-old drive?" is talking about many people's opinions on, if 16 year old should be able to get their licence at this age.

" i don't think it matters what age you, as long as you have the practice and experience." said Linnea Greci. Other people thinks differently. Lund thinks that the predominant cause of teen death is from motorcycle accidents and car accidents.

I think that 16 year-old should be able to get their permits but they can only 1 passenger with them, and they can not drive after 11 o'clock at night.

Moore stated, "I've driven with some people who are horrible drivers even though they've been driving for a while, and I've driven with some people who haven't been driving very long but are pretty good. Some people are ready and some people are not."

The other cause of car accidents is texting while driving. Its not just teens it is also people of many different ages.

So its not just teens who are making mistakes on the rodes & who would need more experience it is also older people who you would think knows how to drive and don't. If you are not ready to drive i think that you should just wait until you are really ready so that when you are on the rode driving, you are not puttimng your life in danger. Or anyone Else's.

That might help the percentage of killings in accidents decrease and it would not be an accident on the news everyday. Also when people are driving just take your time don't think that you are the only one on the rode there is many more.

Mariah Carey said " I'm quick to check a B****." By Mariah disrespected Nicki by saying that nick responded to it with, "If you say one more disrespectful thing to me—off with your head!"

I think that by Mariah saying that, she is showing how immature she is and how much respect she have for her and her pears around her. It was very disrespectful, you would not anybody to talk to you like that, so therefore you should not talk to others in that way. Personally i do think that Nicki went to far with saying "If you say one more disrespectful thing to me----- off with your head!" She could have just told her if she disrespect me one more time there is going to be problems.

Nicki made a song about all of this that has happened and she says she just trying to keep it real.

I think if Mariah have never made that decision to say that then none of this what have when down in this type of direction. She should just deal with not being the only women on the American Idol panel and grow up.

I think that Barack Obama won because of how good his campaign was, and because he gave a lot of good answers to the most important questions.

Some people disagree with Obama winning his 2nd term, such as Burkhardt who who have preferred to have a businessman like Romney. Burkhardt said, "Obama is " not as smart or fiscally."

Obama has did alot for our country so for Burkhardt to say that he is not smart, is not correct.

"Its in gods hands, I think he would know how to get jobs and get  people back to work, " was Noreen kirkland against Romney. But she also stated that she respects the office of the president though.
